There is no revival coming

By Edwin Christiaan | May 12, 2022

From the Charismatic church circles, I have been hearing for years how there is a tsunami wave of revival coming. Allegedly, it will be the biggest revival move ever seen in history, and it will sweep the earth. Millions all over the world will repent and come to faith in Christ. Some say it will start in the United States, others say it will spring forth in Europe, while yet others predict that it will begin in Africa. Those church leaders who are promising this sweeping, end-time revival secretly dream to be the one God would use to lead such a mighty move.

But where are they getting their info from? Nowhere in the Bible does it say that there is a revival of major magnitude coming! The reality is, there is no revival coming! This is just another lie of the Christian church to keep you hoping, and keep you sowing money into the church “in preparation” so they say. In fact, Jesus predicted that in the last days,

“Nations and kingdoms will go to war against each other. People will starve to death, and in some places there will be earthquakes. But this is just the beginning of troubles. You will be arrested, punished, and even killed. Because of me, you will be hated by people of all nations. Many will give up and will betray and hate each other. Many false prophets will come and fool a lot of people. Evil will spread and cause many people to stop loving others.”

Matthew 24:7-12 CEV

Furthermore, the apostle Paul said this:

“For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”

2. Timothy 4:3-4 NLT

“You can be certain that in the last days there will be some very hard times. People will love only themselves and money. They will be proud, stuck-up, rude, and disobedient to their parents. They will also be ungrateful, godless, heartless, and hateful. Their words will be cruel, and they will have no self-control or pity. These people will hate everything good. They will be sneaky, reckless, and puffed up with pride. Instead of loving God, they will love pleasure. Even though they will make a show of being religious, their religion won’t be real. Don’t have anything to do with such people.”

2. Timothy 3:1-5 CEV

“But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived.”

2. Timothy 3:13 NLT

Please give me one good reason why God would trust the deceptive Christian churches with a massive revival, sending new converts to their congregations for them to be put under the Old Testament law of tithing, and into a greedy, self-serving environment where they will be fleeced out of their money? To a place riddled with false doctrines and teachings?

The modern-day church has no credibility in the area of trustworthiness. It has never showed that true revival is actually more like how the first church in the Bible book of Acts practiced ‘caring and sharing,’ than the appalling actions of the church nowadays, where it is all about charging you for everything and doing business with God’s Word. When the church talks and brags about the revivals that took place in recent history, these were no revivals at all! The so-called falling in the spirit, shaking, Holy Ghost laughter, seeking supernatural manifestations, worshiping angels, and so much more of the same nonsense is NOT revival!

Just take a look at how the First Church were conducting themselves, making sure no one was lacking anything. These actions of caring and sharing had a real impact on the world. Unbelievers were coming to them on a daily basis to give their lives to Jesus Christ!

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.”

Acts 2:42-47 NLT

“All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all. There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need.”

Acts 4:32-35 NLT

Again, how the First Church lived is not what we see in the church today. They practiced the same serving, loving, and giving attitude that Jesus Christ modeled to His disciples, namely:

“Freely you have received, freely give.”

Matthew 10:8 NKJV

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Acts 20:35 NKJV

Instead of reading the Word and doing what works, the Church is desperately praying and hoping for a revival that never comes! They say to P.U.S.H. meaning, Pray Until Something Happens. How foolish! Instead of sitting and praying, go be a light to the world by living a lifestyle worthy of Jesus Christ. Take care of one another, and in that way obey the law of Christ.

“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2 NLT
