The church will never preach the true Gospel, because the Gospel is divisive in nature and will offend some. Romans 8, verse 9 says, “But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)”
So, the summary of this scripture (including what is written in parenthesis) is:
1. If you have God’s Spirit living in you, you are controlled by the Spirit.
2. If you have God’s Spirit living in you, you are not controlled by sin.
3. If you don’t have the Spirit of Christ living in you, you don’t belong to Him. The true gospel is rarely spoken because those who speak it realize that it has the following affect on those hearing it: a) They feel excited, or b) they feel damned.
Those, who are chosen to belong to Christ will get excited that they are chosen, and those who are not chosen will get angry at God for not choosing them. But the Church will never tell people the truth. They will give people false hopes that they are indeed saved, when they are in reality not. Not speaking the truth is a mockery of God and the Gospel.
They essentially tell people that the reason your spiritual life is a constant struggle is because there is something you are not doing right. Either you don’t have enough faith, haven’t read the Bible enough, haven’t prayed enough, haven’t fasted enough, or you haven’t tithed enough. They will never admit what the above scripture says; that you must be controlled by the Spirit if you call yourself a Christian. Your life can’t look like a trail of enslavement to sin and defeat. The Spirit of God will never lead people to sin and defeat, ergo, they don’t have the Spirit of Christ living within them. And, if they don’t, they don’t belong to Him.
Isn’t it about time we start accepting the truth and stop deceiving ourselves? Not every believer is a child of God, and not every church is a House of God. Just because someone is a believer and goes to church doesn’t mean they have the Spirit of Christ living within. Only those, who have the Spirit of Christ living within them, belong to God. And you can tell, because their lives are led closer to Jesus every day, not farther away. They become more like Jesus every day, not more sinful.
Isn’t it time for you to hear the truth from your spiritual leaders? But you won’t, because they are there to flatter you and continue to get your money.
We should preach the truth of the Word of God fearlessly and not for gain.
“You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.” 2. Corinthians 2:17
