Pastors are falsely telling you that you must give a 10% tithe of your money income to the church as they misuse the following Old Testament Bible verse,
“Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; Proverbs 3:9 NKJV
But this scripture was about God commanding the Israelites to keep the Law of Moses by giving the first of their crops to Him out of gratitude for His bountiful provisions. (See Deuteronomy 26:1–3, 9–11). This has nothing to do with how the New Testament believer should be giving money. According to the Scriptures we are not obligated to give any first-fruit money whatsoever to the church! It’s a total fabricated lie to just get your money. You should take care of your immediate family first and not the Church!
The Bible teaches,
“But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.” 1 Timothy 5:8 NLT
In other words, You should never allow yourself to be guilt tripped into this false doctrine of giving to the Church first!
As matter of fact the apostle Paul teaches,
“Give in proportion to what you have. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality.” 2. Corinthians 8:11-13 NLT
This first-fruit money teaching in the Church is nothing but a crafty scam that millions all over the world are falling for!
