When a married man is from God, the Bible says, He provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to His church, not by domineering but by cherishing. He goes all out in his love for his wife, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. His words evoke his wife’s beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her.
He does not hate or reject himself. He loves his wife as much as he loves himself. He loves his wife and does not abuse her. He fulfills his wife’s sexual needs. He gives authority over his body to his wife and does not deprive her of sexual intimacy.
He thinks about his earthly responsibilities and how to please his wife. He does not provoke his children, causing them to become discouraged. He honors his wife and treats her with understanding.
