“Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” Matthew 21:12-13 NLT

It is the same today, when you go into the Church and they do business, profiting off of Jesus and His Word! They cleverly make it normal practice for you to reciprocate their services by tithing to the church (giving 10% of your income every month), and paying for things like Bible schools, online teachings, conferences, even food and drinks.

Jesus taught His disciples for three years for free, and then sent them out with this instruction,

“As you go, announce that the kingdom of heaven will soon be here. Heal the sick, raise the dead to life, heal people who have leprosy, and force out demons. You received without paying, now give without being paid. Don’t take along any gold, silver, or copper coins. And don’t carry a traveling bag or an extra shirt or sandals or a walking stick. Workers deserve their food.” Matthew 10:7-10 CEV

In essence, Jesus told the disciples to ‘Go do what I tell you. Freely you have received from Me, now freely give it to others. Don’t take anything with you. Have faith in Me, because I will take care of you!’

Jesus never told His disciples to pay tithes or to pay for His teachings!

If Jesus Himself never asked funds from His own disciples, how come the Church doesn’t follow the example of Jesus, but instead vehemently impose the Law of tithing on its members? Why charge them for every little thing?

It is for this reason, that the apostle Peter warned us about these church pastors and their false teachings,

“Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.” 2. Peter 2:2-3 NLT

And this is a big deal!
