God is on the side of those who listens to His teachings and obeys them. They are like people who build a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. They are not like those who hear the Gospel and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word.

No! These are people who are convinced that no trouble, no hard times, no hatred, no hunger, no homelessness, no persecution, no bullying threats, no backstabbing, no death nor life, neither angels nor demons or fears for today and worries about tomorrow, yes, not even the powers of hell can separate them from God’s love! They are not being tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching and they will not be influenced when people try to trick them with lies so clever they sound like the truth!
