The way you got saved was, you confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead! (See Romans 10:9) This is the same principle when you need God to give you wisdom or anything else you ask of Him. When you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. (See James 1:5-8) Jesus also made this very clear when He explained how to have faith in God; “I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.” Mark 11:23-25 NLT
