As I wrote in the previous post, many Christians seem to have embraced a Gospel of Positivity, which I explained is a deviation of the sound doctrine of the Word of God. It has its roots in New Age philosophies, teaching that the Law of Cause of Effect will make sure you receive back any blessing you put out into the universe. It has become normal for Christian ministers to teach this karma-like teaching, dressing it in a coat of Faith teaching. But just because you are confessing “I am rich” like a mantra all day, doesn’t mean you are getting rich! Anyone who knows their Bible and have been taught a sound Biblical foundation, knows that positivity is not something the Bible really speaks about or elaborates on. As a matter of fact, the Bible admonishes us to live in the truth, receive the truth, accept the truth, search for truth, worship in truth, as so on. Bottom line is, many will have to choose between being positive and being truthful. Many don’t want to hear or even entertain truth because it doesn’t sound “nice” and the truth usually hurts a little! These are the people who will eventually turn their backs on Christ, because following Christ will include persecution, being mocked, being a fool for Christ, suffering, trials, tribulation, persistent prayers, faith, commitment, devotion, steadfastness, production of godly character fruits, and a sincere love for the truth. No one who truly loves Jesus will let offense hinder receiving God’s truth from Him. Let us not be offended at the Bible or God, but let us rather accept what God’s Word says, and allow ourselves to change to its standard, not try to dictate what we think is acceptable to us.
“The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.” Matthew 13:20-21 NIV
