One day God told King Saul of Israel, through the prophet Samuel, to go and completely destroy the enemy of Israel, the nation of Amalek. But instead of completely destroying them, he went and spared Agag, the Amalekite king, and kept the best of the animals.
This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation—men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys. 1. Samuel 15:2-3 NLT
He captured Agag, the Amalekite king, but completely destroyed everyone else. Saul and his men spared Agag’s life and kept the best of the sheep and goats, the cattle, the fat calves, and the lambs—everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality. 1. Samuel 15:8-9 NLT
When King Saul was confronted by the prophet Samuel about disobeying the command of God to wipe out the nation of Amalek and not spare anybody or anything, Saul lied about carrying out the entire mission. Then, on top of everything, King Saul ended up throwing his own troops under the bus, by blaming them for his failures.
“But I did obey the Lord,” Saul insisted. “I carried out the mission he gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else. Then my troops brought in the best of the sheep, goats, cattle, and plunder to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.” 1. Samuel 15:20-21 NLT
King Saul foolishly spared King Agag, because he wanted to be seen as a man of goodness, an appeaser, if you will. He loved the spectacle of getting glory for his achievements.
President Obama has the same problem as King Saul, since he continually spares the enemies of the United States, the radical Muslims, by appeasing and apologizing to them instead of defending and protecting our country’s principles that are rooted in the faith in Jesus Christ.
For weeks now, President Obama has blamed the murder of the U.S. Ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012, on a video depicting the prophet Mohammed – a video that virtually nobody has seen, and which was released sometime in July of 2012. The President also called the attack on the embassy in Benghazi a spontaneous protest against the video. But now it has become clear, that this was a pre-planned terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11, and that the U.S. State Department knew about it all along. In order to save face, President Obama has now chosen to throw his own people of the U.S. State Department under the bus, by blaming them for not giving him the right information.
Just like King Saul, President Obama wants to be seen in the world as the appeasing good guy, and just like King Saul, President Obama loves the attention of getting glory for his achievements. He will blame anybody or anything that stands in the way of reaching that goal!
But then God, through the prophet Samuel, said to King Saul: “So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, He has rejected you as king.” 1. Samuel 15:24 NLT
Could it be, that God is saying the same thing to President Obama; So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, He has rejected you as president.
