An Institute of Love

By Edwin Christiaan

The Institute of Love website is a place where you can learn about the power of God’s unconditional love, which is able to conquer all obstacles in life.

Webster’s Dictionary gives the following description of God’s love:

God‘s tender regard and concern for mankind and mankind‘s devotion to and desire for God as the supreme good.

We all desire to be loved, wanted, accepted, and mean something to somebody. That is how God created us – to be filled with His love, so we are able to give it to others. What you don’t have, you cannot give. You can only give what you have!

Unfortunately, many people have been brought up in an unloving and spiritually bankrupt home and society that produces wounded people. Now they are not able to receive and understand the unconditional love of God. Instead, they walk in bitterness, offenses, unforgiveness, fear, (self)-rejection and (self)- hatred. This void on the inside causes them to search for love in all the wrong places, trying to find security in things like approval and affirmation from people, sex, drugs and alcohol, riches, status, education, and even in religion. That is the reason the Bible says:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

Hosea 4:6 NKJV

You should also know this that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.

2. Timothy 3:1-5 NLT

And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Matthew 24:10-12 NKJV

Adam and Eve got misled by the Devil in the Garden of Eden and sinned by eating the forbidden fruit. This caused all mankind to become sinners, who had to live separated from God. Mankind was now under the control of Satan, a fallen angel who had rebelled against God. They needed to be rescued and restored back to the intimate and loving relationship with God they shared in the beginning. Moved and motivated by great love, God came with His brilliant plan of redemption:

“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, no one is likely to die for a good person, though someone might be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s judgment. For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by his life. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God – all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God.”

Romans 5:6-11 NLT

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.”

John 3:16-17 NLT

As we receive God and His forgiveness for our sins in our lives, we become born again. We now also receive His graceful, merciful, and healing love, because God is indeed LOVE!!!

“Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God — for God is love.

God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us.”

1. John 4:7-12 NLT

And this fulfilled the commandment that Jesus Christ gave us:

‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.

Matthew 22:37-40 NLT

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we are like Christ here in this world.

Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of judgment, and this shows that his love has not been perfected in us. We love each other as a result of his loving us first.

1. John 4:16-19 NLT

“Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2. Peter 1:6-8 NLT

1. Corinthians 14:1 NLT

There are three things that will endure — faith, hope, and love — and the greatest of these is LOVE.

1. Corinthians 13:13 NLT

This will be our greatest testimony to this dying world who is seeking for true and real love; as Jesus said:

Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.

John 13:34-35 NLT

We pray God’s blessings upon you, as you embark on the journey of educating yourself in the unconditional, unfailing, love of God in Jesus Christ!!!
