A Festival of Encouragement

At one point in the Bible, Jesus Christ told the religious leaders the following:

“Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.” Mark 12:24 NLT

This is precisely what many Christians wrestle with; knowing what the Bible, God’s Word, says about them and the encouraging promises of what God can do for them if they obey and trust Him! Instead of living an encouraging life, they are discouraged and bombed out.

One of the gifts God has given Sophia and I is to encourage our fellow Christian brothers and sisters and people in general. “If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging.” (Romans 12:8 NLT)

This time, we put together a selection of verses from the Bible of Jesus’ powerful teachings to His followers, calling it “A Festival Of Encouragement,” in order to lift up your soul! This festival of encouragement can be celebrated all year round!

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NLT

“Take courage. I am here!” Matthew 14:27 NLT

“I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.” John 11:25-26

“I AM the Messiah!” John 4:26 NLT

“I am the bread that came down from heaven.” John 6:41 NLT

“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35 NLT

“Don’t be afraid. I am here!” John 6:20 NLT

“I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12 NLT

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 NLT

“I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.” Matthew 19:28-29 NLT

“I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels. But anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God’s angels.” Luke 12:8-9 NLT

“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” Luke 10:19 NLT

“You are my friends if you do what I command.” John 15:14 NLT

“Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” Mark 1:17 NLT

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NLT

“I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Mark 2:10 NLT

“I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” Mark 2:17 NLT

“The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!” John 4:35-36 NLT

“I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Luke 18:17 NLT

“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” John 5:24 NLT

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else.” John 10:27-29 NLT

“I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against the house, it stands firm because it is well built.” Luke 6:47-48 NLT

“Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NLT

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:34-35 NLT

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” John 15:9-11 NLT

“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.” John 15:16-17 NLT

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” John 14:12-14 NLT

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” Matthew 21:21-22 NLT

“Anything is possible if a person believes.” Mark 9:23 NLT

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:9-10 NLT

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear.” Luke 12:22 NLT

“These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.” Luke 12:30 NLT
