No Tithing Burden

Don’t you like it when the Bible scriptures speaks for themselves? For instance, when the disciples of Jesus Christ made the following clarifying statement to the gentile believers – who were being misled – in a letter, as they wrote to them:

“The apostles, the elders, and the brethren,
To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings.
Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, “You must be circumcised and keep the law” —to whom we gave no such commandment— it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth. For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from things offered [...]

No Tithing Under New Covenant

When Jesus said; “How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you ignore the important things of the law — justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things. Blind guides! You strain your water so you won’t accidentally swallow a gnat; then you swallow a camel!” Matthew 23:23-24 NLT, he was clearly speaking in accordance to the “Old Covenant” laws, since the Law of Moses was still in force during the lifetime of Jesus here on earth. It would have been ‘sin’ for Him at this time to teach against it. Jesus was just reinforcing that tithing was a requirement under the Old Covenant. Under the “New Covenant” we are now being taught that “if you are really eager to give, it isn’t important how much you are able to give. God wants you to give what you have, not what you don’t have. Of course, I don’t [...]

10% Mentality

As we have indicated on numerous occasions in our studies and blogs; God does not require at all from New Testament believers in Jesus Christ to tithe 10% of their income! Christians, who do tithe, are legalistically chained with an Old Testament law given to Israel at a specific time for a specific purpose. Tithing was instituted for the tribe of Levi, that the priests came from, so they would have a source of income. (See Malachi 3:8-12) I heard this from someone the other day and this is so on the money; when you faithfully give 10%, you also faithfully keep 90%! This produces a 10% mentality. God doesn’t want your measly 10%! He lovingly desires 100% of you! 100% of your heart surrendered to Him! That is why New Testament believers are being taught the following; “you must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have [...]

You Are Not The Only One

You would be making a big mistake to think that you are the only Christian that goes through unique or special kinds of sufferings, testings, and temptations, and you complain that no one in the world understands what you are really going through. Elijah the prophet made that same mistake when “he complained to God about the people of Israel and said, “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.” And do you remember God’s reply? He said, “No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed down to Baal!” Romans 11:4 NLT
Therefore, you always have to “remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.” 1. Peter 5:9 NLT Even Jesus Christ, “this High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.” Hebrews 4:15 NLT And what is absolutely encouraging, is what the Bible [...]

Disorder In The Church

To continue in the line of what I have been talking about regarding what is taking place in churches, something you often see is church members, who have absolutely no calling or anointing from God whatsoever to pastor, counsel, or lead anybody spiritually, being appointed as leaders in the church by the senior pastor. The only reason these church members have been put in the position of leadership is because they have money and are heavy tithers. By giving these wealthy church members leadership positions, the senior pastors keeps them in their churches and keeps the money flowing. These, by God not appointed leaders, are the ones who ultimately will end up wrecking the lives of many, bringing instead of peace, nothing but disorder and all kinds of evil actions through jealousy, ulterior motives, control, manipulation, and selfish ambition in the church. The Bible says that “God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.” 1. Corinthians 14:33 NLT And that “wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there [...]

Twisted Leadership

There is so much of that going on in the churches, where the pastors and leaders are too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary (poor) people and serve them (see Romans 12:16), but instead these church leaders give only special attention, kindness, favor, and the good front seats to those who have money, are dressed in fancy clothing, and wear expensive jewelry. (See James 4:1-4) These pastors and leaders of these churches are clearly not in the ministry to serve, but they do it only for the money. Their sermons are always about the same old clever lies (see 2. Peter 2:3) which are that you must pay tithes, give offerings, and sow all sorts of breakthrough seeds to them in order to get your mighty financial, healing, and restoration blessing. Essentially, you have to buy your so-called miracle! These pastors and leaders are turning whole families away from the truth with these false teachings. (See Titus 1:11) This selfish behavior totally contradicts what Jesus said about what true godly leadership is supposed to look like; “Whoever wants to [...]

Seeking God’s Will

Your main and only concern as a true Christian is supposed to be that you try to find out what pleases God and try to understand what He wants you to do. (See Ephesians 5:10,17) It is by being in God’s will that you will find His favor, provision, and protection! (See Exodus 33:12-17) That’s why you should never be like people who are making their own plans and boasting about it, saying; “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” Because how do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” James 4:13-16

King David was one [...]

Sex In Marriage

The Task Of The Husband

In a Christian marriage, the responsibility and task of the husband is to give up his life for his wife to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. (See Ephesians 5:25-26) That means that the husband is the one who needs to teach his wife from the Word of God, the Bible, so she will be blessed and prosper. It is for this reason, that apostle Paul taught that women should learn quietly and submissively, and that women in the church should not be allowed to teach men or have authority over them. (See 1. Timothy 2:11-12) Here is an example of how Titus, a leader in the church, was instructed by Paul to teach the older women in his church to live honorable lives, so they in turn could teach the younger women to live the godly way of life: “Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women [...]

Are You An Idol Worshiper?

Are you an idol worshiper? Meaning, other things are more important or have become more important than God in your life, such as money, career, social networking, sports, music, entertainment, people, friends, relationships, family, or even ministry. Worshiping idols, or the things of this world, is the same as being a greedy person, and this a serious offense against God who is a jealous God (see James 4:5) who warns us that “you can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.” Ephesians 5:5-6 NLT
God richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment (see 1. Timothy 6:17), but we must never become a slave to anything, loving other things more than God, causing Him to become jealous and resisting you! (See 1. Corinthians 6:12) Or, as the apostle Paul testified; “I once [...]
