IS THIS YOUR LEARNING CURVE TOO?

“I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Bible also teaches that I must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then I will not be unproductive. (See Titus‬ ‭3:14‬)

I ask God to give me complete knowledge of His will and to give me spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way I live will always honor and please Him, and my life will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, I will grow as I learn to know God better and better. (See Colossians‬ ‭1:9-10‬)

JESUS SAID,

“Everyone who acknowledges Me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before My Father in heaven. But everyone who denies Me here on earth, I will also deny before My Father in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭10:32-33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“If anyone is ashamed of Me and My message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when He returns in His glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As for me,

“I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” Romans‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I work hard so I can present myself to God and receive His approval. I want to be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. (See 2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬)

HERE IS WHY GOD WANTS ALL HIS CHILDREN TO SPEAK IN TONGUES

“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” I Corinthians‬ ‭14:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally,…” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

For if you pray in tongues, your spirit is praying, but you don’t understand what you are saying. (See 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:14‬)

That is why all the disciples of Jesus Christ were speaking in tongues and all those they laid their hands on and prayed for. (See Acts 2:4 + Acts 19:5-7)

BE DONE WITH BITTERNESS

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

According to the dictionary, the meaning of a person being bitter is someone who carries resentment and is angry and disappointed at being unfairly treated.

There are scores of Christians who are bitter, just as the Bible says,

“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” Romans‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control.”‭‭2. Timothy‬ ‭3:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus said that,

“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are My followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad!” Matthew‬ ‭5:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The apostle Paul taught,

“Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.” Romans‬ ‭12:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

That is why we are being told as followers of Jesus Christ to,

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And also to,

“Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous [...]

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

“Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.” Colossians‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭NLT

“Think of all the wonderful things God has done for you.” 1 Samuel‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering.” Hebrews‬ ‭10:32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Think of all the hostility Jesus endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.” Hebrews‬ ‭12:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭8:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.” Hebrews‬ ‭10:24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

THE WAITING GAME

FROM THE BIBLE NERD

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In other words, when you choose to wait on God, you are assured that what you are waiting for will surely come to pass. When you choose to depend on Him and wait for His timing, cooperating with Him and letting Him do according to His will, you will never be disappointed.

“And this hope will not lead to disappointment.” Romans‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In fact, God even strengthens us and builds our character in our time of waiting, and makes us grow according to His plans for us.

“Those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The process of patiently and faithfully waiting on God to act is a very good thing. His words do not fall to the ground undone, and His promises cannot be broken. He always does what He says!

“Be still in [...]

GOD IS BEHIND YOUR TIMES OF TESTING

“Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in His suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing His glory when it is revealed to all the world.” 1. Peter‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.” 1. Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment.” Romans‬ ‭5:3-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully [...]

IN ORDER TO RECEIVE YOU NEED TO ASK GOD

The Bible says, “You don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.” James 4:2 NLT

Jesus told His disciples,

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.” Matthew 7:7 NLT

And,

“You didn’t choose Me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using My name.” John 15:16 NLT

“I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and He will grant your request because you use My name.  You haven’t done this before. Ask, using My name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” John 16:23-24 NLT

That apostle Paul also taught the people to, “Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” Philippians 4: 6 NLT

In other words, God wants us to ask Him for anything that pleases Him – no sinful and selfish things! ANYTHING, as the following scriptures confirm:

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.  But [...]

WHO WANTS THIS?

Jesus said,

“You cannot become My disciple without giving up everything you own.” Luke‬ ‭14:33‬ ‭NLT

In other words,

“If you want to be My disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be My disciple. And if you do not carry your own cross and follow Me, you cannot be My disciple.” Luke‬ ‭14:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Yes, Jesus replied, and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God, will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come.” Luke‬ ‭18:29-30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is for this reason that Jesus said,

“But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

SHOULD CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS?

The Bible mentions individuals celebrating birthdays on two separate occasions, but both times terrible things occurred.

The first mention is in the Book of Genesis where the Egyptian king Pharaoh used his own birthday occasion to execute his chief baker, whom he was angry with. This incident happened three days after Joseph interpretation of a dream that the chief baker had. He was hung at the party just as the dream foretold. (See Genesis 40:1-23)

The next time a birthday is mentioned in the Bible, is in the New Testament in the book of Matthew where King Herod ordered the beheading of John the Baptist at the urging of his wife Herodias.
“But at a birthday party for Herod, Herodias’s daughter performed a dance that greatly pleased him, so he promised with a vow to give her anything she wanted. At her mother’s urging, the girl said, “I want the head of John the Baptist on a tray!” Then the king regretted what he had said; but because of the vow he had made in front of his guests, he issued the necessary [...]
