You know you are in a cultic church when the people happily put up with whatever the pastor or leaders tells them, even if they preach a different Jesus, or a different kind of Spirit, or a different kind of gospel. (See 2. Corinthians 11:4)

You know you are in a cultic church when the people put up with it when the pastor or leaders enslave them, take everything from them, take advantage of them, take control of everything, and slaps them in the face. (See 2. Corinthians 11:20)

But when you are in a godly church, the pastor or leaders takes care of the flock that God has entrusted to them. They watch over the people willingly, not grudgingly, not for what they will get out of it, but because they are eager to serve God. They don’t lord it over the people assigned to their care, but they lead them by their own good example. (See 1. Peter 5:2-3)

Be careful who you listen to when it comes to the Jezebel Spirit. Some people speak without proper understanding and anointing. A good example: Yesterday, someone sent me a video of a well-known American pastor preaching that Elijah was so overcome by a spiritual attack from Jezebel that even though God tried to reach him in the earthquake, the fire, and lastly the still small voice, God ultimately had to take him home because he forfeited his place of authority with God and had to be replaced!

This is just a complete misconception of what happened. Elijah was only temporarily overcome by depression, but he completely recovered, and 1. Kings 21 describes how God sent him back to confront Ahab for the death of Naboth and to pronounce judgment over Jezebel! Indeed, God also continued to give Elijah missions, and in verse 28, we see God conversing with Elijah. When God took Elijah up to heaven, it wasn’t because Elijah was so useless, like this preacher claimed, but a display of God’s power and miraculous doing.

Jesus said, you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. A second is equally important: Love people as much as you love yourself. (See Matthew‬ ‭22:37-39‬‬)

Therefore, “If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And He has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.” 1 John‬ ‭4:20-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In other words, “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them.” Romans‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“In His kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus said; humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God all things are possible! (See Matthew‬ ‭19:26‬)

In other words, God can do anything, anytime, anywhere, with anybody!

It is for this very reason that Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” Mark‬ ‭11:22-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And the apostle Paul said it this way,

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, “Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him. He is possessed by an evil spirit that won’t let him talk. And whenever this spirit seizes him, it throws him violently to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid.

So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth. “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, “Since he was a little boy. The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Listen, you [...]

Here is some of the reasons why people get hurt in the church by those who are not supposed to be pastors or leaders.

“Never be in a hurry about appointing a church leader.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭5:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In other words, he might not have the calling to be a pastor.

“A church leader must not be a new believer, because he might become proud, and the devil would cause him to fall.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In other words, he is immature.

“A church leader is a manager of God’s household, so he must live a blameless life. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered; he must not be a heavy drinker, violent, or dishonest with money.” Titus‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In other words, he does not walk in the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

“He must manage his own family well, having children who respect and obey him. For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?” 1 Timothy‬ ‭3:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In other words, he is not able to lead his own family and be a godly example [...]

“I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Bible also teaches that I must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then I will not be unproductive. (See Titus‬ ‭3:14‬)

I ask God to give me complete knowledge of His will and to give me spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way I live will always honor and please Him, and my life will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, I will grow as I learn to know God better and better. (See Colossians‬ ‭1:9-10‬)

“Everyone who acknowledges Me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before My Father in heaven. But everyone who denies Me here on earth, I will also deny before My Father in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭10:32-33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“If anyone is ashamed of Me and My message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when He returns in His glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As for me,

“I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” Romans‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I work hard so I can present myself to God and receive His approval. I want to be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. (See 2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬)

“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” I Corinthians‬ ‭14:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally,…” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

For if you pray in tongues, your spirit is praying, but you don’t understand what you are saying. (See 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:14‬)

That is why all the disciples of Jesus Christ were speaking in tongues and all those they laid their hands on and prayed for. (See Acts 2:4 + Acts 19:5-7)
